RATIONALE :

The general aim of the MEAL project is to develop a pedagogical model which will help teachers and nutritionists to teach and to promote healthy eating behaviours to children. The project will focus on how children should eat (speed of eating, places where they eat, etc.) referring to previous projects to help teachers and nutritionists to access nutritional information in case they need it. The pedagogical model will be supported by new technologies, allowing better and more attractive ways of learning for both professionals and children.

The project will develop and test a software application to help teachers and nutritionists (both students and professionals) to learn about eating habits, and what is even more important, to deliver this information to children and to turn the information into real and long-term actions. In addition, it is foreseen to design and develop a serious game for children to increase the efficacy of the pedagogical nutrition model and to sensitizing them on this topic.
